The Baie-des-Chaleurs Rally is a rally event held on fast, technical gravel roads through the forests and hills of the Gaspé Peninsula, with New Richmond serving as the hub of operations. The event is part of the Canadian Championship organized by the Canadian Association of Rallysport (CARS). Teams from across the country come to compete.

More than 50 years ago, motorsports enthusiasts organized the first performance rally on the roads of Baie-des-Chaleurs in the Gaspé Peninsula. Back then, cars like the Datsun 510, Toyota Celica, and Triumph TR7 were already competing on gravel roads to claim victory in this now-iconic event.
Today, the competition has evolved, but the spirit of the rally remains the same. Modern cars such as Peugeots, Fords, Skodas, and Citroëns join Subarus and Mitsubishis to cover nearly 200 timed kilometers on fast, demanding roads.
This round of the Canadian Championship attracts teams from across the country. In fact, in 2007, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Canadian Rally Championship, the BDC Rally had the honor of receiving an award for “excellence in motorsports” presented by Pôle-Position magazine.
